Rap Pioneers Sugarhill Gang is set for a Chart Comeback

Basically Sugarhill Gang is ready to set for a chart comeback. They are working for their first album in more than 10 years and they are very innovative to do their task and very hardworking. The veteran hip-hop trio, best known for the hit Rapper's Delight, has headed back into the recording studio to work on the follow-up to 1999's Jump on It!

The news comes at a good time for The Sugarhill Gang - the rappers have also become film stars thanks to I Want My Name Back, a new documentary by The Thomas Crown Affair producer Roger Paradiso. The movie, which premiered at the Urbanworld Film Festival in New York last week, chronicles the band's rise to fame and the stars' lengthy legal battle to take ownership of their records and claim royalties.

Paradiso tells AllHipHop.com he blames the legal spat with bosses at the Sugar Hill record label for the group's long wait in between albums. Mainly they are working for their new album and from that they got so disillusioned during their first experience. If that song (Rapper's Delight) happened today, they'd be set for life. But they are living a very modest life."The forthcoming album will be the band's fifth.
