Buy Aakash Tablet in India at World’s Lowest Price / Cheapest Student Tablet PC

Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal launched the much awaited India's ultra-low-cost tablet. Aakash is a tablet computer designed in India. The device is low cost but full functioning device in order to attempt to bridge the digital divide. The commercial version of the tablet will be retailed under the brand name UbiSlate.


This lowest priced touch-screen computing and internet access device which will allow people with humble means a chance to access the same set of web information which the rich access through more sophisticated devices. To start with, the device will be made available to students at 50% subsidy (Rs 1,125) and the government plans to bring down the price to $10 a unit.

If you are a student then you can expect to get one before that. The Hon'ble minister will be presenting 500 students with a brand new Akash tablet tomorrow. After that 700 new tablets will be manufactured daily with more companies expecting to join hand in manufacturing the cheapest mobile tablet device in India and world. It is still unclear if you will be able to buy Akash tablet from any shop or mobile store, but it is highly likely that initially it will be contributed via colleges and universities to the students.

It is expected to bridge the digital divide between the rich and poor and is Wi-Fi enabled.
